Fromthe Cook Islands Triathlon Association we extended a warm welcome to the 18th annual Air New Zealand Rarotonga International Triathlon, which was held May 12, 2012.
This event has been completed, and the date for next International Triathlon event will be May 11, 2013.
We invite you to experience a triathlon in an island paradise - a swim in warm clear water of one of the South Pacific’s most beautiful lagoons, a cycle around the entire island and a run along palm fringed roads. It is an effectively an olympic distance triathlon (1500m/41k/10k), however has proven to also be popular with long course triathletes as well as first timers.
If you are looking for a different sort of race, this is one that most club level and age group competitors will enjoy. This race is high in enjoyment and with the opportunity to sample Polynesia – its islands and its laid back lifestyle.
The event was covered in the September 2009 issue of the New Zealand Multisport and Triathlete magazine, and was previously reported on in the July 2008 issue.
A short video of the 2010 Triathlon has been posted and will give you a flavour of the event (you might find yourself in it somewhere if you did this race.) <2010 Raro Tri Video>.

Recent Updates
20-May-12 2012 Triathlon, Tour de Raro, and Boiler Swim results can be downloaded from the links below. The Results page will be updated over the coming weeks:
The Tour de Raro results may have a few errors as some competitors picked up a chip based on their triathlon race number rather than the number allocated for the Tour de Raro. The prize winners were correct, however if you feel your time is not shown correctly and wish to have it amended let us know: rarotonga.tri@gmail.com.
Our overseas visitors are welcome to join the locals at these events. All are of a social nature yet with a competitive edge. They are appropriate for all skill levels from first timers to elites.
Looking for more sporting events in the Cook Islands? Download the 2011-2012 Calendar for information on the activities you'll find if visiting Rarotonga. Please note that dates are subject to change and you are advised to contact the event organisers
